SNO Collaboration Meeting, MIT
February 21 - February 25, 2007

The Collaboration Dinner

The Collaboration dinner will take place at Fiore's restaurant, located at 250 Hanover Street, Boston MA.

The dinner will be served family style, starting at 7:30 pm on Saturday night. Please let us know if you have special dietary restrictions.

The easiest way to get to the restaurant (though not the only way) is via the subway:

  • Take the Red Line from the Kendall/MIT Station inbound (toward Ashmont/Braintree) down to Downtown Crossing
  • Transfer to the Orange Line outbound (toward Oak Grove) to the Haymarket Station.
  • Walk east on Haymarket Street Walkway
  • Turn right on Surface Road
  • Walk approx. 1 block SE on Surface Rd.
  • Turn left onto Hanover Street. The restaurant is about a block away.

  • Hanover is the heart of little Italy here, and it should be easy to find. Use the map below to guide you. It should take you about 30-40 minutes to complete the trip.

After dinner, you may wish to explore what Boston's North End has to offer. For example, just up the block you will find Mike's Pastry, which is famous for its Italian desserts and coffee.

However, I always find it very crowded, so I prefer to go across the street from Fiore's, which is Modern Pastry. They have really great chocolate dipped canoli and authentic torrone.

    Local Cuisine

There are a few options for lunch and dinner which are right on campus. Most of the students will eat at the Stata Center or at the Lobdell Food Court (Building W20). The latter has a number of options, including Anna's Taqueria (good mexican), Cafe Spice, and Sepal Middle Eastern Cuisine.

For those who wish to venture a bit further out, I have google-mapped a number of local restaurants in the area..

In addition, here is a website listing and describing all the dinning facilities near MIT.

Finally, if you are brave enough to venture across the bridge in the freezing cold, the options are endless...

    Lunches and Coffee Breaks

Coffee breaks will be delivered to the various sessions throughout the meeting.

Lunch will be provided on Saturday and Sunday by us (Friday, alas, you are on your own...).
