LNS Computer Services: New User's Page
New Accounts
If you wish to use a Linux or Unix workstation or server supported
by LNS Computer Services,
go to the new accounts
page. Before you can get an account, you must agree to the
LNS Computing Policies.
When you get an account,
a general description
of the "unix domain" will be sent to you.
Network Connections
To get or change a connection to the LNS network, go to the
LNS network request page.
Electronic Mail Services
We recommend using Athena's
mail services if feasible. But other options are available.
Print Services for Windows Computers
You may choose to install MIT's
LPR Spooler for
Windows 95/98. Or, especially if you are running Windows NT,
Contact
windows@lns.mit.edu to have your PC included in the LNS NT Domain.
Backup Services for Windows Computers
LNS offers backup services at no cost. Contact
windows@lns.mit.edu
for information. MIT also provides inexpensive backup services
for Windows computers.
Learn about it at the
MIT ADSM page.
